Dr. Gilbert is known for her extensive training in all areas of dermatology and has a particular interest in the category of cosmeceuticals and the mechanism of action of dermal fillers and neuromodulators. Using her training as a PhD in neuroscience she has explored numerous off-label uses for neuromodulators in treating medical dermatological conditions. She is an accomplished author who has published numerous scientific and clinical publications.
Dr. Gilbert received her undergraduate degree from Barnard University and her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate, where she also performed her residency in dermatology as a chief resident. She received her PhD in neuroscience from State University of New York Downstate. She then performed her internship in internal medicine at NYU Medical Center.
She is the President of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and an active board member. At the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in 2017, she was given the President’s Award by Dr. Adelaide Hebert. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the New York Stem Cell Foundation
Dr. Gilbert was appointed as the first US-based Consulting Dermatologist for Vichy Laboratories, a L’Oreal brand, three years ago. This opportunity has enabled her to share her expertise and skincare philosophies with patients and consumers. Dr Gilbert also consults for L’Oreal Paris, Essenci Skincare.
